Proposed Rates Postponement Policy Amendment
Greater Wellington is committed to making it easier for ratepayers facing hardship to manage at a difficult time.
We are proposing an amendment to our existing Rates Postponement Policy. This will allow ratepayers to request rates postponement from their local council and have a similar approach taken by Greater Wellington in most circumstances.

You can see the relevant rates policies of your local council by clicking on the link below. Note that these links may include various policies associated with rates remissions and postponements by the local council. A rates remission is where the amount of rates payable is reduced. A rates postponement is where payment of rates is deferred until a later date.
Greater Wellington is only reviewing its policy in relation to rates postponements, not rates remissions.
